Dodgers pound Pirates 11-2
Slow day today with only the Pirates 11-2 pasting at the hands of Los Angeles to write about.
The Pirates could not take advantage of the wildness of Dodger starter Hong Chi Kuo and came away with just one run from a bases loaded situation in the first inning.
Ronny Paulino's walk gave the Pirates an early 1-0 lead, but it was downhill from there as losing pitcher Matt Morris (0-2) was pounded for 6 runs in four and a third innings.
The bullpen long men fared little better as Phil Dumatrait allowed two runs in an inning and a third, while Evan "Nitro" Meek allowed three runs in a two inning garbage time stint.
The second and final run of the Pittsburgh night came on an 8th inning Freddy Sanchez sac fly that scored Nate McLouth.
The loss ended a four game Pirate winning streak and the trip to Dodger Stadium ends tonight with the finale.
