Cleaning out the inbox

The inbox begins with the Athletic and an excellent article on former Baltimore Orioles first-round selection Matt Hobgood.
The article speaks with Hobgood, Joe Jordan, who was the Orioles scouting director at the time, and other members of the Orioles organization that knew Hobgood during his career.
Hobgood was the fifth overall selection in 2009, but never pitched at AAA, let alone the big leagues and the article discusses Hobgood's lack of success, problems with weight and his attempts to live up to his draft position.
Couldn't recommend this article more.

Ohio State's St.John Arena has taken another step in their throwback evenings with Buckeye basketball as the volleyball team has moved to the Covelli Center and with volleyball lines on the court no longer needed, they have been removed.
St.John was used for one Buckeye game last season against Cleveland State and will be used for their non-conference tilt with Kent State this season.
Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann has stated that there is a consideration for a future Big Ten game at St.John and both of the Ohio high school basketball championships will eventually be held there with the girls starting this season and the boys in the following year.
Eleven Warriors posts some pictures and knowledge here.

The Athletic is back with a deep dive into the career of Lex Luger from his wrestling career to his outside the ring issues (personal, legal and physical) and what Luger is doing with his life today after once being a paraplegic.
Lex Luger was never a huge favorite of mine, but he was undoubtedly a star in the wrestling business and it's usually a good story when wrestling stars of the past talk about their lives in and out of wrestling-even when some to all may or may not be true.
No matter your feelings on wrestling or religion, it's an excellent article and worth the time to read.

We wrap with Rolling Stone's look back at the origin and as they put it near-death of Weezer.
This year is the 25th anniversary of their Blue Album and the article discusses the various starts and stops of the band as they attempted to hit the big time.
I wouldn't say I'm a massive Weezer fan, but I like them and remember the Blue Album fondly from the time.
