Cleaning out the Inbox

Time for some housecleaning.
I am still not seeing Pirate games, but there was two small moves as John Bowker was shipped to the Phillies for a PTBNL and Matt Diaz to the Braves for the same.
For all the good things that Neal Huntington has done in building the Pirates system,I cannot name one free agent that had exceeded expectations, although Kevin Correia did about what they hoped, but the line of busts is a rather long one.

I also have decided against an Ohio State preview as I am trying to finish up the Lakewood Blue Claws as soon as possible in the final series of the year in Hagerstown.
I will still have coverage of the OSU game against Akron.

Maryland and their contract with Under Armour makes one think of the Oregon deal with Nike as far as bad and strange uniform choices.
The turtle themed helmet is just awful and the further things go,I suspect that worse things will get.

Maryland coach Randy Edsall has taken the player names off the back of the uniform to promote "Team unity".
I hate these moves because they do little good other than to confuse people watching the game on identifying players.
Terrific Maryland football has sunk so low that they have to emulate Big East football?

With the Texas A&M move to the SEC,the interesting point is the 14th team to join the SEC.
If it is Clemson,Florida State,Virginia Tech or the sleeper team N.C.State,the ACC could be the big loser in this mess.
If the Big Ten decides to go to 14 teams in the commotion,Maryland could be a Big Ten target.
This is what happens when a basketball conference makes moves based on football.....

Finally, this interesting article about the troubles of Ric Flair is well worth the time.
Flair is reportedly considering legal action on the article.
The slide of Ric Flair is one of the sadder things that I have seen in quite some time.
We wrote about Flair earlier this year and things only have gotten worse for the faded legend.
