TRS Boxing Ratings: Part Two

    Part two of the TRS boxing ratings will list the lower weight divisions starting with the lightweights through the light flyweights/strawweights and ending with the top ten pound for pound ratings.

We only did three ratings this year and I like to do at least four and if the gentlemen have the time, I'm considering going to an every two months format...

A few notes.

First, two divisions that may stand out are featherweight and junior lightweight.

Featherweight where Gary Russell has sunk like a stone without losing and Junior Lightweight where WBC champion Oscar Valdez is ranked behind a fighter that he beat earlier this year.

I don't ask voters to explain their votes but my guess is that Russell is finally getting backlash for his once-a-year title defense and two voters left Valdez off their ballot entirely for his recent PED issues.

While I may or may not disagree with either or both of these voters, my job is to trust the voters as good boxing men and tally up their votes.

If I was to change votes that I disagreed with, I might as well do this alone.

The continuing problem with Gervonta Davis, who hurts himself in the rankings with his insistence in bouncing among three divisions and different voters vote him higher in certain divisions.

Davis makes it very difficult to rank him properly and it only hurts a very talented fighter.

Also, the Flyweights and Junior Flyweights do not include C.J. Burney's vote and rankings were collected before Kid Galahad's KO loss last weekend, so that is not reflected in the ratings.
