Pirates add Quinton Miller
The Pirates have signed 20th round pitcher Quinton Miller away from his commitment to North Carolina and added another high upside pick to the system.
Miller signed for a 900,000 bonus and his college education paid for similar to yesterdays deal with Robbie Grossman.
Another excellent signing by the Pirates, although it does appear that Tanner Scheppers is going to be a tough sign.
I think that the Pirates did'nt like their chances of landing Scheppers today and decided to shovel the money saved into Miller and maybe another player.
As much as I would like to see Scheppers signed,I can see the logic of not overpaying.
He is not proven to be 100 percent healthy right now and wants top ten money.
If that money used to sign Miller, another player and then some leftover dough to help with Pedro Alvarez then I can live with that.
Plus that would give Pittsburgh two second rounders next year as the compensation for not signing Scheppers would be (likely) the third pick in Round 2.
Here is a video of Quinton Miller,if you want to take a look at the newest Pirate.
