Steaming hot from the melting pot

Many things in the melting pot today,so lets clean the inbox out!

The Hagerstown Suns changed their website to the preferred template ones that most minor league teams use.
I liked the older one better, but this was coming and just a matter of time,so nothing to be enraged about.
Some things on the new site are better with easier access to stats, scores etc,but the old site was able to stand out more with a different look than the template ones.

More Suns as the team quietly released their 2010 schedule with the new site and one thing came as a surprise as the Kannapolis Intimidators (White Sox) will not be coming to Hagerstown this season.
Earlier talks with Suns management had noted that only the Savannah Sand Gnats (Mets) would be skipping the Hub City next season.
At least the White Sox are in the Carolina League (Winston-Salem),so they are not a team that would be a big loss like SAL that are affiliated with non-CL teams would be.
Thanks to Big Don for doing the legwork on this one.....

Sorry to hear more bad news on Steve "Dr.Death" Williams, who's fight with cancer has begun anew.
Williams had been cancer free for five years, but the cancer has returned to his stoma and the battle is on.
Best wishes and thoughts go out to Dr Death.

We travel the skies for the LCROSS mission that slammed a missile into the Moon's surface in an attempt to find water under the lunar surface.
I liked the mission's idea, but the planned show was a bit of a dud visually.
It will take some time to tell if the mission found water or not..

Those of you looking for Christmas gifts for the sports fan in your life can get ahead of the game with either of these two items.
For the football fan,can it get any better than their own stadium?
Well, the Pontiac Silverdome is up for auction and you can then do whatever you wish with it.
The Silverdome hosted the Detroit Lions, Detroit Pistons,Super Bowls and Wrestlemania III,which was the world's largest indoor crowd at that time with the Hulk Hogan-Andre the Giant match as the main attraction.

For the wrestling fan,the NWA belt held by Ric Flair and Harley Race is up for auction and the minimum bid is 75,000.
Flair gave the belt to Highspots as collateral on an loan that was unpaid, due to Flair's financial issues.
It is unfortunate that the belt will go to the highest bidder, but legends that need money often have to do what it takes to pay the bills.
In that way, they are the same as all of us are.

I am absolutely loving Showtime's History of the AFL.
The last installment is later tonight and look for my take on the series, which features an astonishing admission from me.

Back later with more from the film room and a look back at my day yesterday.
