One Crappy Sports day.........

Not much in the way of good news yesterday,as all the teams lost and not impressively either.
The Indians lost to the Reds 1-0 in 12 innings.
The good news here was 9 shutout innings by C.C Sabathia.
With any offense at all ,he would have been the first 10 game winner in the majors.
Alex Gonzalez hit a single off Aaron Fultz in the 12 to score the games only run.
Fultz took the loss to drop his record to 3-1.

Meanwhile, the Pathetic Pirates went slapped around the venerable Yankee Stadium and finished off a wonderful 3 game non-effort with another loss of 13-6.
B.P Chacon was pounded to the tune of 7 runs in 3+ innings and generally pitched like B.P Chacon generally does.
Chacon is now 2-1 and on a real team would be in the middle of the rotation at AAA or at least the last man on the staff.
Dave Littlefield's big Signing Matsumi Kuwata made his debut and allowed Alex Rodriguez to take a pitch to Connecticut.
3 Pirates had 2 RBI -Jose Bautista,Chris Duffy and (Gasp) Jose Castillo.
I had forgotten Castillo was still a Pirate, maybe he should be in the lineup more.
It is hard to get people interested in dealing for a guy that never plays.
Outside of that-I have little to say, other than watch tomorrow's blog.
At least I will not have to report another Pirate loss-they are off today.

The Cavaliers lost Game 2 to the Spurs 103-92 .
The game really was not that close,as the Spurs let off the gas pedal late.
I am just hoping for 1 Cavalier win to avoid the sweep.
After waiting all this time to make the Finals,it would really blow to be swept there.

Pitching Matchups
Pittsburgh-OFF, wonder if they can win that one?
Seattle- Cha Seung Baek 3-2 at Cleveland-Paul Byrd 6-2 7;00

Bullpen Notes
Thanks to Becky for letting me know that Michael Stanley is an afternoon DJ in Cleveland.
Guess it is time to hit EBay and look for some cheap CD's.

The Reds honored their 3 great announcers before the game vs Cleveland.
The late Waite Hoyt, the retired Joe Nuxhall and Hall of Famer Marty Brennaman each had a microphone with their name on it hung with the retired numbers of Great American Ballpark.
Brennaman ,for my money,is the best radio guy there is.
I like our Lanny Frattare a lot,but Marty is the best.

Now lets see the Pirates do the right thing and do a similar thing for Rosey Rosewell,Bob Prince and Lanny!

For a sad and funny read-check out Wilbur Miller's report on Pirate 20th round pick
Brian Tracy.
Look at those numbers and tell me he was deserving of being a draft pick.
More reasons that the Pirates are the biggest joke in Baseball.

Vlad over at Bucs Dugout has done a "shadow draft" and I will doing that here on my off days.
A shadow draft is when you look at the actual draft and select for a team taking guys that were actually available in each slot.
Bet mine looks better than Captain Dave's.
Of course this guy ( pictured) could do better than that.
Then again,maybe not!

I will be at tonight's Hagerstown Suns-Lakewood Blue Claws game with Rachel and Battlin Bob.
Hoping that Kyle Drabek will be there, but it is unlikely.
