Duke shuts out Giants 7-0

Zach Duke won his first game in three months by dominating the San Francisco Giants in a 7-0 Pirate win at San Francisco.
Duke (5-13) built off a good performance in a losing effort in his last start and went the distance,.allowing just six Giant hits and was threatened only once.
The Giants loaded the bases with no one out in the third, but a home to first double play was followed by a grounder to Brian Bixler to end the inning.
Ryan Doumit continued to crush Giant pitching with four hits on the night while Brandon Moss knocked three runs, the biggest being a 2 run triple in the seventh.
The Pirates scored four runs in four different innings and all on sacrifice flies.
The series continues tonight in the City by the Bay.

Bullpen Notes
I listened to last nights game off the Giants network and I remembered why I always found Jon Miller so overrated.
Miller just does the same old routine all the time.
The broadcast was not a total loss as one of my favorites,Orlando Cepeda, was in the booth for a inning.
Cepeda is getting a statue of himself dedicated today outside the ballpark.

A mild earthquake occurred during the game.
Miller mentioned it in passing, but the game was not disrupted.

The Ohio State Buckeyes host the Ohio Bobcats today without Chris Wells.
Shouldn't matter.
Buckeyes 45-6.

The Ashland Arrows were hammered by the Kettering Alter Knights at home 51-14.
The lopsided loss ended the Arrows school record home winning streak at 13.

The Cleveland Cavaliers look like they have replaced Joe Smith with free agent signee
Lorenzen Wright.
The veteran from Memphis should at least add a few minutes of rest for the Cavalier big men.

Thanks to the readership!
We set a new all time record for hits on Thursday!
Now if we can just turn that into comments!
