Cleaning out the Inbox

We start the inbox with a sad note from the world of boxing as WBC Lightweight champion
Edwin Valero committed suicide in his jail cell in Venezuela a few days after being arrested for allegedly killing his wife.
Valero hung himself in his cell using the sweatpants that he was wearing.
The power punching Valero had several legal issues including drug use in his past,but was reported to have been giving loose rein due to his friendship with Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.
Valero was 29-0 with 29 knockouts and was coming off his biggest win in a 9th round knockout of Antonio DeMarco on Showtime.
Our condolences to his children and family in what must be a horrific time for them..

Good to see that HBO has the intelligence to see a disaster when they own one as they axed
Joe Buck Live after just three episodes.
What a train wreck and not the so bad that it is worth watching kind either.
Now,if HBO could transfer some similar common sense to ESPN for their horrible shows such as Sportsnation and the god awful Winners Bracket that replaced Wide World of Sports on ABC...

Sorry to see Kelly Pavlik lose his middleweight title to Sergio Martinez via unanimous decision in Atlantic City.
Martinez controlled the first few rounds and Pavlik evened the fight by winning the middle rounds and dropping Martinez to the floor once.
Martinez was able to cut Pavlik in the ninth round and won the the remaining rounds.
We scored the bout 115-112 for Martinez.

Interestingly in the rough financial times,it seems that the casual dining eateries have been hit the hardest of all restaurants.
Here is the top ten list of declining restaurant chains.
Hagerstown has two of the ten here in number six Western Sizzlin and number seven Fazoli's.
I have ate at three of the others,number one Black Steer (I could see why they are declining),number three Country Kitchen and number four Damon's,which I thought was very good....
Western Sizzlin has very good steaks,but a way overpriced buffet,which is pedestrian to be kind.
I have never eaten at Fazoli's.
