Can Cavaliers break the curse?

The NBA Finals kick off later tonight in Oakland as the Cleveland Cavaliers travel to the Golden State Warriors for game one...

The Cavaliers are certainly hobbled a bit with Kyrie Irving being less than one hundred percent and of course the loss of Kevin Love for the playoffs, but the Warriors aren't at full strength either with Klay Thompson recovering (although he is expected to play) from a concussion.

I originally was planning on a preview, but as I thought about things,I wanted to write about much a Cavaliers victory would mean to me and the fans of Cleveland sports.

The easy answer is a lot.
50 years without a major sports title is enough in itself, but adding in the various manners that the three teams in town have lost chances at trophies and you have a lot of acidic buildup in our collective stomachs!

A championship would mean so much, even if the Cavaliers are the third wheel on the Cleveland sports bicycle, but I think it would have been even better had LeBron James not left town.
However, the return of James to Cleveland adds an element to the story that would add the touch of redemption that several feel good stories have and might provide an even better feeling should the prodigal son return a title.

Should the Cavaliers lose,I won't feel too badly all things considered.
At least, they would have lost to another long suffering fan base (The Warriors last made the finals in 1974 and winning it) that deserves a title since the Warriors will be crossing the bay back to San Francisco in a few years and that the Cavaliers were really a year early in their arrival
Still I want this BAD!!!
Go Cavs!
