Nady's longball lifts Pirates over Giants

In a game that looked to be a high scoring affair,Xavier Nady's two run homer in the fourth inning was all that Pittsburgh needed to defeat the San Francisco Giants 3-1 at PNC Park.
Nady's fifth homer brought in Jason Bay and broke a scoreless tie and was the only runs that Pittsburgh was able to score off of a seemingly easy to hit Barry Zito.
Nady also was able to bring in the other Pirate run when he hit into an 8th inning double play, which does not give an RBI,but of course is still a run producing play.
Phil Dumatrait evened his record at 1-1 and earned his first major league victory with 5 and a third innings of scoreless baseball.
Dumatrait allowed just three Giant hits and fanned 5 in a good performance, but lets not get too excited-it was against the Giants, who featured a double play combination that was the pivot combo for Low A Augusta at this time last year in Brian Bocock and Emmanuel Burriss.
Matt Capps earned his seventh save by pitching a shaky ninth that allowed San Francisco their only run.
The series between these two titans ends today at 12:35 if Mother Nature allows as rain is in the forecast.

Pitching Matchup
San Francisco:Matt Cain (1-2 4.08 ERA) at Pittsburgh:Paul Maholm (2-3 4.58 ERA) 12:35 ERA

Bullpen Notes

I know that I ranted on how bad the Giants are yesterday and these things tend to even out,but isn't it hard to believe that the Giants are ahead of two teams in their division (Colorado and San Diego) along with a better record than the Reds, the same record as the Nationals and until last nights loss to the Pirates-the Bucs were on that list.

Yesterday's trip to Frederick on a wind-aided day for power was enjoyable, albeit sun burning for a quick look at the Kinston Indians.
The wind was blowing out and the ball was carrying very well.
Too well for both teams starters, who were each chased early.
The game highlight was a almost brawl between the two teams after Beau Mills was plunked for the second time in the game.
Mills walked towards pitcher Jeff Moore and Kinston manager Chris Tremie screamed at the Frederick dugout and things briefly looked like action was coming, but things died down.
The Keys grabbed a 12-6 win.

And finally, from the why would anyone do this dept.
A computer hacker got into a on line epilepsy forum and put images that are known to cause seizures and migraines to sufferers of epilepsy.
The warnings on the back of video games are an example of the problems that can be caused for these people and someone has nothing better to do than hurt others.
What a jerk.
