Back from hiatus

Only a few things to comment on as hiatus ends and the daily grind returns.

I will be reviewing tapes of the big Buckeye win in Camp Randall Stadium over Wisconsin and the bitch-slapping that the Seahawks received from the Giants over the next few days and will have some thoughts on them afterwards.

Tremendously disappointed to hear that Lanny Frattare is retiring from the Pirates as the teams "voice" after 33 years in the Pittsburgh broadcast booth.
I have always liked how Frattare called a game and he will be missed, especially since it looks like Greg Brown will step into the Frattare position.
The Pirates have stated that they will be interviewing for the spot, but Brown will be the likely choice.

The Cleveland Indians selected outfielder Michael Brantley from the Brewers system as the final part of the CC Sabathia trade.
Brantley will likely start at the new AAA affiliate for the Indians in Columbus next season.

Watched the Biden-Palin debate from my hotel room and thought that Palin didn't hurt her ticket with her performance, but didn't help it either.
I thought her dodging of questions and pre-fabricated "folksy" charm came off as insulting to the viewer and thought the wink was undignified.
However, she was not a total disaster,so the GOP could not have been too down about the outcome.

Tonight's debate really could be the last stand for John McCain.
Considering how the tide stands right now, anything short of a knockout win for the Arizona Senator could be an end game for the Republican ticket.
