Yep,the typo was deliberate.
I just could not stand to stomach watching the tape of the Seahawks 44-6 pummeling against the Giants,so you will have to settle for the thoughts of the Ohio State win over Wisconsin.
I usually don't mind breaking down tape, but that one is beyond my tolerance!
Shawn's Thoughts
1) Terrelle Pryor began the process of becoming a quarterback that can run instead of a runner that passes.
The running QB is normally not my cup of tea,but I can foresee Pryor having the potential (A bad word) to maybe being a combination of running and passing.
Think more Randall Cunningham and less Michael Vick.
Pryor may have beaten the Badgers with his legs at the end,but looking at the final drive-he did that with his arm and that gives Pryor a chance to be a very special player....
2) I could care less what any pundit, commentator or Big Ten basher says- Chris Wells is the best running back in the land.
The stiff arm that held a hapless Badger defensive back at bay for five yards on Wells first quarter touchdown should be a staple of highlights for years to come.
3) I was impressed with the performance of Ross Homan in the game.
Putting a fumble recovery aside,Homan seemed to finally flash the skills that have been (for various reasons) under wraps.
Look for Homan to be next years star of the defense....
4) I wish that the coaching staff would try to put tight end Jake Ballard into the passing game more.
With Rory Nicol injured,Ballard is always on the field and the massive tight end could be a solid check off receiver for Pryor as he sharpens his passing skills....
5) Dane Sanzebacher will miss the Purdue with a concussion that he suffered after making a big catch.
The problem was the sandwich hit he took from Badger defenders and he coughed the ball over to the Wisconsin defense.
Bullpen Notes
It appears that Lanny Frattare is having second thoughts on his retirement.
The Pirates should make sure that he indeed doesn't want to return before hiring a new play by play man.
The New Jersey Devils sent a large group of players to Lowell in trimming their roster to the final 23.
Mostly youngsters that were expected to be at Lowell anyway (Nicklas Bergfors,Matt Corrente and Matt Halischuk) and veterans to stabilize the roster.
The only surprise was Rod Pelley being sent to the farm, but word is that Pelley had options remaining while Petr Vrana did not and that is why that decision was made.
Vrana and Finn defenseman Anssi Salmela were the only two rookies to make the opening night roster.
Martin Brodeur will have a new mask design for the first time that I can remember.
Brodeur has used the Devils tail for years, but has gone to a mask designed by his brother for the upcoming season.....
