Seahawks lose to Green Bay,Browns next on the chopping block?

The Seattle Seahawks came into yesterday's game against the Green Bay Packers playing their third string quarterback and still injury ravaged.
Things looked bleak and they stayed that way as the Packers defeated the Seahawks 27-17 in a game that was not really that close.
The loss sends Seattle reeling to 1-4 and fell 2 and a half games behind Arizona in the NFC West.
The Seahawks will play at Tampa next Sunday night in a game that NBC must be thrilled to have to televise in prime time.

Shawn's Thoughts

1) I know the score was tied at 10 at the half, but not once did I look at the game and think Seattle had a chance to win.
I watched most of the first half live and broke down tape at work of the rest and it just seemed to me that sooner or later that Green Bay would make their move and that would be it.

2) Charlie Frye did throw 2 TD's to go with 2 picks, but only 83 yards?
I know the offense does not emphasize the deep throw, but maybe a medium one occasionally?
I know all about Charlie Frye,I watched his entire term in Cleveland and the arm is not great, but
isn't there something to be said for keeping defenses honest?????

3) The running game was not great by any stretch, but I thought a turning point in the game was on the Hawks first possession in the second half when Julius Jones ripped off a 51 yard gain that was called back for holding.
That not only could have given the Seahawks an emotional boost, but would have given Jones far better numbers than the pedestrian one he finished with (12 carries 44 yards).

4) This was again because of Frye being under center, but the Packers hurt the ground attack by daring Frye to beat them with eight and NINE men staying in to play the run!

5) Could this be a team in chaos behind the scenes?
Two "head coaches" on staff and guys not knowing who to impress more?
Maybe I am reaching here, but maybe the best thing for Mike Holmgren to do is get out now and start his sabbatical a little early.

Bonus Round
I really like John Carlson and I rarely like Notre Dame guys.
He caught a TD and it was extra effort that got him into the end zone and if Seattle can ever get a passing game going to include passes of more than 15 yards, his role can only continue to grow....

The Cleveland Browns return to Monday Night Football tonight as they host the New York Giants.
Speaking of teams in disarray,I don't see how the Browns can win this game.
Please remember this is the guy that said the Rams had no chance yesterday in Washington.
Kellen Winslow will miss the game with his injuries that kept him hospitalized for much of the week, but it does look like Donte' Stallworth will finally play for a change.
Cleveland was everything to lose, yet nothing to lose (as dumb as that sounds).
The playoff hopes need a win,but no one expects them to win,so perhaps they throw everything against the wall and try to make things happen.

Our Prediction-Record 6-3.
Giants 35-17

The New Jersey Devils attempt to move to 3-0 tonight at MSG against the Rangers.
The Rangers have yet to lose either,so someones 0 must go!

Back tomorrow with Devils and Browns coverage..
