Random Ramblings......

Some quick Sunday notes on a slow day.

The Pirates doubleheader today vs the Giants was canceled,as expected, due to rain.
The Bucs travel to St. Louis tomorrow to try the Cardinals again.

Charlie over at Bucs Dugout, follows up on a post by our guy Wilbur Miller about Jeff Manto.
Manto ,who is the Pittsburgh Batting coach, is apparently insane or just not that bright.

The Devils travel to the hotbed of Hockey(Tampa Florida) to resume their series tomorrow night.
The Devils and Lightning have each won a game in the series.

Still working on the Bill Bradley claim that IF the United States made vehicle fuel mileage standards the same as in Europe, the USA would not have buy 1 barrel of oil from OPEC.
I think it is in his new book, but nothing on line thus far.

Two weeks before the NFL Draft.
Cleveland Browns picking 3rd and Seattle Seahawks do not have a number one.
The Seahawks traded the pick to New England for Wideout Deion Branch.
I would be thrilled if the Browns wound up with any of these 3 players.
Adrian Peterson Rb Oklahoma,Joe Thomas T Wisconsin or Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech.

A note to Phil Savage (Cleveland GM), Please no Brady Quinn!
I am not sure my stomach can handle that.

Thanks to my Brother and nephew for getting me a signed card of wrestling great
Beautiful Bobby Eaton for my collection.
The Midnight Express was my favorite all time tag team and Eaton was the constant through the changes.
From all accounts,Bobby is a great guy and I hope to meet him at a show in May.

Another great episode of Real Time with Bill Maher this week, but please Bill,no more Dana Carvey.
Every time Bill Bradley and Scott McClellan had a meaningful exchange,Carvey would chime
in with either a unfunny joke or impersonation.

Watched a snorefest of a "Heavyweight title fight" from Germany.
The touted "Giant" Nikolai Valuev dropped his title to Ruslan"White Tyson" Chagaev in Germany.
The best part was listening to Don King, who was trying to sell this as a classic title fight "Like Ali-Foreman".
And people wonder why Boxing is not what it used to be.........
