Winning streak dies at 3 in Cinci.

The winning streak met its end at 3 last night in chilly Great American Ball Park,as the Pirates dropped their 1st game of the season to the Reds 6-1.
Matt Belisle appears to building a reputation as a Pirate killer as 4 of his 7 career wins have come vs our Buccos.
Paul Malholm's box score doesnt look great over 5 innings,but IMO one bad pitch to Jeff Conine turned a solid effort into a less than stellar outing.
I like Malholm,but of the touted "Bucco 4",his stuff isnt as strong as the rest,so he has to avoid mistakes more than the rest.
His mistakes tend to leave the ballpark,but I do like his grit and toughness.
Ronny Paulino's 1st Inning single scored Chris Duffy for the Pirates only run.

In other Buc news;
Today's game vs the Reds has been moved from the originally scheduled 7;00 start to a afternoon 1;00 start,due to the cold weather that has attacked the East over the last few days.
Smart move by whoever made that call,I only wish the people in charge in Hagerstown made the same decision for tonight's game.
And they wonder why so few show up?
Anyway its Tony Armas making his Pirate debut and Aaron Harang (the Reds Ace) going for Cincinnati.
Armas could be an underrated signing for the Bucs in the 5 hole.
Tony has always had good stuff and I think he could help this team.

Jim Tracy's favorite veteran utility infielder Jose Hernandez re-signed yesterday and will report to Indianapolis.Tracy "thinks it's great" as he told the Post-Gazette.
