Buckeyes go for the title vs Bayou Bengals

The Ohio State Buckeyes go for the national title against the LSU Tigers on what essentially is a road game for OSU.
The national media has already given this game to LSU and I can see why they would be favored, but I fail to see how a super team could lose to both Kentucky and Arkansas.
The LSU defense is top notch, but so is the defense from Columbus.
The two keys to the game in my opinion are these-.
Can Chris Wells continue to rush like one of the best backs in the country and perhaps establish himself as the challengers to Tim Tebow for the 2008 Heisman?
Can Todd Boeckman turn things around after poor efforts in the Buckeyes last two games of the season and play a solid,no mistakes contect?
If those two things can be done, this is a winnable game.
Predictions in a game like this puts me in a bad spot.
If I pick Ohio State then I am a homer, but if I pick LSU,then I have no confidence in my team.
But in all honesty,I see a close game, but the Tigers hold on and get a bigger scare than most see.
Here is hoping that I am wrong.............
Our Pick-LSU 23-21.

The Seattle Seahawks were looking at elimination from the playoffs Saturday with just half the fourth quarter to play, but between a Matt Hasselbeck TD toss to D.J. Hackett and two interceptions returned for touchdowns by Marcus Trufant and Jordan Babineaux turned the final into a very deceiving 35-14 win over the Washington Redskins.
Since I didn't have time to post yesterday most of this is old news,so I wont get into detail on the game other than this-the defense played well and other than one drive,Hasselbeck did not.
Matt seems to falling into playing like his mentor-Brett Favre, but he does not have those type of skills and cannot afford to take the risks that Favre does.
He will need to pick it up next week at Green Bay.
The Hawks even got some production from the running game as Shaun Alexander broke a run or two and Leonard Weaver rushed for the first touchdown.
Going to be an interesting and fun game vs the Packers next week.......

The New Jersey Devils figured that playing Kevin Weekes was a possible loss Saturday night vs the Bruins.
What they didn't figure that he would allow three pretty soft goals and that would be the difference in the game as the Beantowners grabbed a 4-3 verdict.
I did like the Devils attempts to stay in the game as they played very energetic and dominant third period and almost pulled out the game.
Danius Zubrus put the Devils up 1-0 in the first with his 7th goal of the year, but three goals in a row gave Boston a 3-1 lead, two of them weak tallies.
Dennis Wideman flipped one in the air from almost the blue line for one that eluded Weekes and Marco Sturm beat him shorthanded on his own rebound for another.
Johnny Oduya scored his 1st of the year in the second to trim the lead, but another soft goal 90 seconds later proved to be the game winner.
Travis Zajac scored his second goal(7) in two nights to complete the scoring in the third.
The Devils play the first half of a home and home with Buffalo tomorrow..

Bullpen Notes

Not only am I glad as a Seattle fan that they knocked out Washington, but as a football fan as well.
If I had to listen to one more Sean Taylor is watching and is the "hidden hand" of the game,I think I would scream!
I understand the players being influenced by the Taylor tragedy, but the announcers??
Cris Collinsworth is bad on his best day,but he was really over the top on Saturday....

We went 4-0 on our picks for the playoffs, lets see how we do this weekend!

Tomorrow is the Hall of Fame's announcement of the new inductees.
Here is hoping for the deserved election of Jim Rice.....

Rich Rodriguez hires more of his assistants from West Virginia at Michigan.
Please hire them all-they did such a great job against Pitt!

I recently compared Hillary Clinton to Ed Muskie on another site a few days back, but I didn't mean it like in the breakdown way!
Clinton's almost in tears moment today likely will give most that are against her all the ammo that they will need for voting against her.
All the old stereotypes for women candidates will come out now.
In our opinion-she is done..........

Back tomorrow
