Pirates losing 7-0 and Bullpen Notes

The Pirates are losing 7-0 in the 6th as of this writing.
The game will not be over by the time I go to work.
Not much to say other than Paul Malholm was not good and new arrival Marty McLeary was even worse.
Claudio Vargas continues to own the Pirates.
Maybe if the Reds traded for Vargas and put him with Matt Belisle..........

Bullpen Notes

Lake County pitcher Michael Eisenberg has his own blog on life in the South Atlantic League.
It is an interesting read and he makes some notes on the Hagerstown Suns facility and the Municipal Stadium field itself.
Sometimes I think I am the one that is wrong in this battle-
Nice to see that others see things similarly.
I talked to Mike quite a bit when the Captains were in town, mostly about Ohio Division III colleges, but some baseball as well.
Nice guy and a unique autograph as well.
Check his blog out.

Here is an article on Matt Peterson.
Matt was the minor league portion of the Kris Benson trade and after 3 years at Altoona seems to be putting it back together since a move to the bullpen.
The interesting part of this was when pitching coach Ray Searage refers to "He's had to undergo a lot of mechanical changes. We changed him from over the top to a three-quarter slot, and he's finally got command of his stuff a lot better."
Wait a minute-the guy was a hot prospect, you (Pirates) get him, start screwing with him, almost ruin his career and put his back against the wall and now YOU are pleased???
Oh Boy........

Finally, the Gin Blossoms are playing Altoona!
This topic came up at the ballpark just last night, ironic how these things work out.
Wish I could go,but Sundays make it difficult.

Back tomorrow with Bucco wrapup and Mayweather-De La Hoya pick.
