Moskos nothing special,Bucs blow lead,Tribe falls to Phenom

Bob Nutting and his lap-dogs Dave Littlefield and Ed Creech continue to get blasted by the Pittsburgh fans and media for their selection of Clemson pitcher Daniel Moskos on Thursday.
Bob Smizik's column in the Post-Gazette today nails the front office for the pick and his opinion that Littlefield and Creech, who in a normal organization would have been fired already, made the pick to please Nutting and his bottom line (Read-Cheap) budgets.
Littlefield and Creech must hope to save their jobs by keeping things WAY under budget, because it certainly will not be because of a successful record in the win column.
This quote from Nutting kills me- "I have much more faith in our people judging talent and judging talent that fits our needs."
And what from this management team gives you ANY reason to think this???
This stuff from Nutting would be funny if not so sad.
It is apparent to me that any sliver of hope and goodwill that Bob Nutting got from his winter press conference has now been proven to be lies.
Congratulations Bob Nutting!
You are now the Donald Sterling of Major League Baseball.

Meanwhile,Moskos gave up 6 runs in 6 innings yesterday in Clemson's super regional loss at Mississippi State.
I watched the 6 innings that he pitched and I was kinda non-plussed.
I mean,he did not look horrible, but I saw nothing that screamed 4th best player in the draft.
He was in the high 80's most often,in my opinion, but his breaking ball looked a bit flat to me and he seemed to have trouble throwing strikes with it consistently.
Moskos threw 4 shutout innings, before allowing a 2 run homer in the 5th.
He was then chased in the 6th,as he gave up 4 more runs,3 of them on another MSU homer.
This could be even worse than I thought.

Wilbur Miller has some capsules of the Bucco draft up on his excellent site.
Always interesting stuff, yet depressing as well.

The Pirates blew a lead and lost to the Evil Empire 5-4 in 10 innings.
Chris Duffy took advantage of the iron glove of Melky Cabrera for a two run inside the park home run.Xavier Nady hit a more conventional homer in the second inning.
10th HR of the season for Nady.
Another spectacular outing for Gas Can Torres,as the Pirates led 4-3,the always brilliant Jim Tracy calls for Gas Can.
Torres rewarded Tracy by pitching to two batters, hitting one of them and giving up a base hit to allow the tying run to score, although Gorzelanny officially allowed it.
Will these guys wise up and quit using Gas Can in situations that can cost the game??
My Lord!!!
Matt Capps took the loss for Pittsburgh to fall to 3-3.

The Indians fell to the Reds and super prospect Homer Bailey 4-3 in the river city.
Bailey made his major league debut and picked up the win in 5 innings of work.
I will try to review the tape tonight and offer opinions tomorrow.
Ryan Garko hit a pinch hit homer in the 9th for Cleveland, his 8th.
Other Tribe RBI went to Victor Martinez and David DeLucci.
Cliff Lee was the loser to place his record at 2-4.
