Whipped by Wings 4-2,Devils reeling

The New Jersey Devils fourth line scored the first goal of the game and the last goal of the game.
In between? Well, all of that belonged to the Detroit Red Wings, who scored the four goals in between and notched a 4-2 win in Detroit.
Cory Schneider allowed all four goals in two periods before giving way to Keith Kincaid for the third period.
Steve Bernier and Jordan Tootoo each scored their first goals of the season for New Jersey.
The Devils will travel to Boston on Monday to finish the three game road swing...

Hell Raisers

1) I know the Devils are beat up with missing guns like Cammalleri,Henrique,Clowe and Havlat from their holster.
I get that and understand that they are outmanned most of the time at the moment until some of those guys get back.
However,I'm not seeing the effort that is needed to overcome these disadvantages.
I missed the loss in St.Louis to watch the Browns, but I didn't like what I read and this game showed me no differences....

2) Two goals from the fourth line were nice additions and whenever you can get those types of contributions, you would think all is good.
Problem was the other three lines hardly showed up..

3) Two more goals allowed on the power play for a total of 20 in 14 games.
When you look at the foundation of this franchise-it has always been defense and doing the basic things to shut teams down.
Right now those things aren't being done.
Young players making mistakes and playing with washed up players with huge contracts add a chickens coming home to roost finale that turns the stomach of long time Devils fans...

4) Cory Schneider allowed four more goals in two periods and was pulled.
I don't blame this on him as I thought he played well with some great saves and only a bad bounce off the boards and some shots that he couldn't see (Thanks Bryce Salvador) were what was getting by him.
I'm not afraid to criticize Schneider, but this had nothing to do with him...

5) This team has passing issues.
Issues so bad that the basic passes seem to be beyond them and they are causing problems.
As in not making the right passes, leading to 3 and 4 on 2 breakaways and a general malaise on offense.
Plenty of time to fix things, but something to look at....
