The Pirates sent Ryan Doumit to AAA Indianapolis today.
I don't see the logic in this as to send Doumit down means that you must then keep the weak hitting Humberto Cota as the backup.
This also means that the Bucs will carry both Jose Castillo and Don Kelly on the roster.
Kelly has a nice story and all,but I cannot fathom someone thinking Don Kelly on this roster could have more value than Ryan Doumit.

This makes no sense to me either.
It seems that Doumit has become the new Craig Wilson. I guess Littlefield has no use for players that can catch, play first base and the outfield corners, and hit for some power.
Very well put.
Why keep a versitile guy around,when you can keep the likes of Cota and Kelly??LOL
