Suns canceled,Pirates drop number 2

According to a unnamed Suns Employee, the Hickory-Hagerstown game was canceled due to cold.
I can see the move to cancel, but I don't see where the weather was much different from the previous two games.
Game will be made up as part of a twin-bill tomorrow, starting at 2;35.
Rememberthat Minor league doubleheaders are composed of two 7 Inning games.
Hickory's two hurlers will be Michael Felix and Eric Krebs and I look forward to seeing both.
Felix,a lefty from Troy, was the Bucs 2nd round selection in the 2006 draft and Krebs,a righthander from Alvin C.C,struck out 31 batters in 28 innings at Williamsport last season.
Those are the kind of numbers that intrigue me.

The Pirates dropped their 2nd game to the Reds in Cincinnati 7-5.
The play of the day (and the difference maker) was Xavier Nady deflecting an Adam Dunn fly ball off of his glove in the 1st Inning over the fence for a two run shot.
It was the 3rd long ball of the year for Dunn.
Tony Armas gave up 6 earned runs in 4 innings in his Pittsburgh debut and walked 5 Reds as well, but can be argued pitched in a little bad luck.
Besides the aforementioned play by Nady,Jack Wilson misplayed a Brandon Phillips pop in the 4th.
I liked Damaso Marte's inning of work today striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced.
He looked really sharp IMO.

In NHL news,my favorite Western team, the Chicago Blackhawks got shelled by the Detroit Red Wings 7-2 to near the end of yet another dismal Hawk Season.
They conclude their season tomorrow vs the Dallas Stars.
The Hawks had some bright spots though.Bringing in the explosive Martin Havlat gave the team that exciting player that had been missing from the team for quite a while.
Unfortunately Havlat's history of injuries from his days in Ottawa followed him to Chi-town,as He missed 26 games this season.
Tuomo Ruutu had a steady season to continue his progress.as the Hawks improve,I think Ruutu will as well.IMO-he strikes me as an outstanding future 2nd line center, but a lower level 1st line scorer.
Patrick Sharp had a career year on the wing, putting in 20 goals.
Not sure if he can repeat that, but we take what we can get.
Young defensemen Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith continue to mature as well with seasons that were more than respectable on this team.
Nikolai Khabibulin had a ok season, but certainly nowhere near his past performances elsewhere and not giving the quality of play the Hawks expected when they signed him to a huge free agent contract.
An outstanding BlackHawk site is the Blackhawk Experience,I recommend it highly for independent Hawk news.

Should be back tomorrow with more stuff, but IF I get bored, might come back for a promised project.

Update-All Pirate affilates tonight happened to get their games cancelled due to the cold.
