Mr.Brodeur's demise was a bit premature.......

Martin Brodeur bounced back to form by shutting out the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight 3-0 in New Jersey to give the Devils a 3-2 series lead.
The Devils can clinch the series with a win Sunday at the Gator Bowl.
Marty Stopped all 31 shots he faced in a dominant performance.
Devils goals to Andy Greene,Brian Gionta and Scott Gomez.
The Gomez goal was into the empty net.
Two big fights tonight,Michael Rupp vs Andre Roy and Jamie Langenbrunner vs Nolan Pratt.
Roy lost his jersey and was ejected from the game for his actions during the scrap.
After the game,Devil asst. John MacLean and Tampa head man John Tortorella screamed at each other from behind the bench.
Have to like MacLean BIG in that one.

I missed the game because I was watching the Lake County Captains take two of three from the Hagerstown Suns with a victory of 10-4.
Matt Whitney homered and doubled twice in addition to his 5 RBI on the evening.
Whitney is in the middle of converting to 1st base from 3rd and dropped to Lake County to learn the position.
Hitting wise,he certainly is well above this level of play.
Leonard Davis homered for Hagerstown in the loss.

Tim Foli was again at the Captains-Suns game and once again I was able to get a card signed.
And again thanks to Michael Rice for the help.
Only other card signed tonight was Hagerstown reserve outfielder Francisco Guzman.

Jeff Heimberger once again proved his fear of the baseball by turning his back to a foul hit RIGHT TO him.
By turning away in cowardice,he eliminated any chance of getting hit by the ball.
He also eliminated any chance of catching it as well.
Way to go,Jeff!
Oh well,he will get it next time.Insert your eyeroll here.

More on the Devils game,as well as the Pirates game in LA and more on the Captains visit as well tomorrow.
